Tamayo Leahy

Tasmanian-based artist – painter and printmaker

Artist Statement March 1, 2010

“I have been popular for my artworks of hydrangeas and other seasonal flowers. However, in my very recent artworks I have created stylised images of Japanese and Western figures. My intention is to depict the harmony not the conflict between different cultures. I see my artworks as bridging the gap between Japanese and Western cultures.”
